Our honey farm
La Miellerie des Chardons Bleus or "Blue Thistle Honey Farm" is named after a flower , which is commonly seen in our area in early summer...this flower is symbolic of the unspoilt environment where we live and collect honey.
It is also the emblem of Scotland where Ralph comes from and is a symbol of resistance too !
Our honey farm is situated outside Beaufort, in the Gervanne valley in the Vercors regional Park.
It means we can take advantage of an exceptional floral variety , by migrating our hives and collecting a wide range of monofloral honeys.
These include lavender, acacia, lime blossom, thyme, chestnut, sunflower,sainfoin etc..
We also use our honey to produce "home made" honey-spiced cakes, leckerlis (just try it !), mead, and ... our famous bee sausages !
We make bees wax candles and have pollen and propolis for sale.
